Thursday February 29

 Highlights:

• In maker space we had free choice to create anything we wanted. Ask me what I created! 
• We learned about leap year. Ask me what I learned! 
• In math we practiced 2 digit addition equations on a number line and we did a worksheet. Then we got to play power of ten games! 
• In science we did a soundproof sound experiment! We tested the materials: foam, paper, fabric, cotton, wood, and plastic. Ask me which materials were the most soundproof!
• In science we also watched a video about sand on a metal plate. Here is the link to the video:

• We had a lockdown practice today. The police officer said that we did an awesome job!

Wednesday February 28

 Highlights:

• In science we got to use music lab on the Ipads. We got to try out different instruments

• In gym we played a 4 corner rock paper scissors game and a stick handling drill 
• In math we did 2 digit addition on a number line and we played power of ten card games

Tuesday February 27

 Highlights:

• In gym we started our hockey unit. Today we learned how to stick handle. 
• In music we finished colouring our dinosaurs based on the different songs we heard. We also shared our musical talents with the class. 
• In writing we wrote about pink shirt day. Ask me what I wrote! 
• In math we used our whiteboards to make an open number line. Then we continued to learn how to do 2 digit addition on a number line. Ask me how to solve 32 + 21 = on a number line. 
• In word work we practiced writing different words that have the consonant blend st, sm, and sp. Ask me some words that start with those letters! 
• Literacy Centres. Ask me what centre I was in!

Monday February 26

 Highlights:

• In math we practiced two-digit addition on an open number line.
• We had the Grade 5 leadership team come into our room and teach us about Pink Shirt Day. Then we decorated our own pink shirts. 
• In writing we read the story "Kindness is my superpower." Then we made our 4 square planner about different ways we can be kind. Ask me one way that I can be kind. 
• In word work we learned about different words that have the consonant blends cl, gl, sl, and fl. Ask me what words I wrote down!

 Highlights:

• In gym we did freedom frenzy 
• We did more of the STEM 100 day activity bins 
• We did a sharing circle about how we feel about the wall in our classroom being closed 
• In writing we wrote about how we feel about the wall in our classroom being closed. Ask me how I feel!
• In our phonics word work we wrote words that start with the consonant blends: gr, pr, tr. Ask me what words I wrote!
